Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Lahaina offers an excellent dining experience!
In Lahaina on the west side of Maui, Ruth’s Chris Steak House is one of the best steak places on the island. It also offers a table setting either close to the windows or in a more comfortable padded booth. Just like its peers on the Mainland USA, the Lahaina Ruth’s Chris Steak House offers, arguably, one of the best steak dining experiences on Maui.
Recently, my wife and I celebrated her birthday at the Front Street location (there is another one in Wailea). The steaks were superb and cooked perfectly, with excellent potato side dishes and very attentive service from Jason. We started with two appetizers – the Calamari and the Chopped Salad. Both were excellent.
Suggestions for Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Lahaina:
- Make reservations. It’s easy to do with OpenTable.
- If you go between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. there are several “early bird” specials worth considering.
- Costco offers an incredible offer – gift cards worth $100 for just $79.95. Awesome!
- I prefer a window table, but if one is not available then the heavily padded booths are very comfortable.
- Consider sharing a steak and a few side dishes. You’ll fill-up faster than you think.
- The $10 and $12 glasses of wine are good. Save your money for the steaks.
- It’s a great place for a special occasion like a birthday or anniversary. They do a “nice touch” at the end of your meal.
- The window tables offer a great sunset view, but are, of course, the most popular seating.
Summary: It’s expensive but it’s well-worth the high cost. The filet is their best steak and the side dishes are large enough to share, especially the baked potato. The service is attentive and never in a hurry, and the food comes out surprisingly quick. If you’re looking for a great steak and dining experience on Maui, the Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Lahaina is the place to go. Dress is island casual.
