Lahaina’s Dirty Monkey Is Open!
Opening in early January, The Dirty Monkey has quickly captured the local and tourist trade with its Lahaina Front Street restaurant. The Dirty Monkey is know for its excellent craft beers, along with an extensive line of specialty whiskeys. A limited food menu consists of a good-sized burger, decent wings, and their trademark Monkey Chips (also called Monkey ears).
Located on the second floor overlooking Front Street in the former Moose McGillicuddy’s space, The Dirty Monkey has over 4,500 square feet dedicated to an extensive, upscale bar area with music and a dance floor.
“It’s a great location in the heart of Lahaina Town,” says Elizabeth Boney. “There’s plenty of TV screens for viewing sports and their huge selection of craft beers are all worth trying.”

Beaches. Maui has some of the best beaches in the world. Napili Bay and Kapalua Bay on the west side of the island are popular snorkel locations, and everyone loves Baby Beach in Lahaina. Honolua Bay is also awesome for snorkeling, and Slaughterhouse Beach nearby is a tourist favorite. Don’t forget to try D.T. Fleming Beach Park.

In the upcountry town of Makawao are two good places to eat – Casanova Italian Restaurant and Makawao Steak House. Stop at this “Hawaiian cowboy” town on your way down from a sunrise visit at Haleakala Crater.
