Ulua Beach In Wailea
Ulua Beach is a family-oriented beach with spectacular morning views!
In the heart of Wailea on the southwest side of Maui, is Ulua Beach Park. It’s ideal for families with children, and is a wide, sandy beach with incredible views of the islands of Hawaii.
Ulua Beach is a short distance from The Shops at Wailea, and has a small parking lot with signage of Wailea Alanui Drive.
With a beautiful, light-brown sandy beach, Ulua Beach has clear views of the West Maui mountains and the island of Kaho’olawe. The water is calm and clear in the morning hours, with visibility up to 15 to 20 feet. It’s a great place to see a variety of species of fish, which are often very close to the water’s edge.
Meet new friends at Ulua Beach!
Situated next to Mokapu Beach, Ulua Beach is perfect for families with children of all ages, and it’s a nice place to meet new friends. The waves are not strong in the morning hours, and the water is ideal for snorkeling.
Ulua Beach Suggestions
- Ulua Beach is easy-to-find with ample parking in two locations as you drive toward the ocean from Wailea Alanui Drive.
- There are nice restroom and shower facilities serving both Ulua Beach and Mokapu Beach.
- There’s a cook ‘lookout’ just past the restroom facilities.
- Bring snorkel gear with you, along with drinks and snacks. There is no snack stand nearby nor is there a lifeguard station.
- The best time to go to Ulua Beach is the early morning hours. After 1 p.m., the water can get rough and choppy.
I hope you enjoy Ulua Beach!
Cool Things To Do On Maui!
Visit Honolua Bay when you’re on the west side of Maui, and maybe grab a pizza at Dollie’s. There plenty of activities on Maui and also some of the best burger places are in Lahaina Town. Don’t forget to make a trip to Haleakala Crater and snorkel at Black Rock or Airport Beach.
Looking for a great breakfast? Try The Gazebo in Napili. Do some shopping at Lahaina Cannery Mall, try some pizza in Lahaina Town at Prison Street Pizza, or go upcountry and have a great steak at Makawao Steakhouse.
Aloha – Enjoy Maui!
Beaches. Maui has some of the best beaches in the world. Napili Bay and Kapalua Bay on the west side of the island are popular snorkel locations, and everyone loves Baby Beach in Lahaina. Honolua Bay is also awesome for snorkeling, and Slaughterhouse Beach nearby is a tourist favorite. Don’t forget to try D.T. Fleming Beach Park.
